Description

A poorly-drained flood-plain, situated between Kapuvár and Csorna. Once together with Fertő it was Hungary's biggest marshland. Nowadays the former rich marshland is limited to the area and neighbourhood of some smaller wetlands like Lake Kónyi, Lake Barbacsi and Lake Fehér. Human activities are partially controlled, and include mowing and grazing of grasslands, peat extraction, reed-harvesting and hunting.
