Description
In Hungary the Baillon's Crake is a rare breeder in bogs with tussocks, shallow alkali marshes and wet meadows. The only regular nesting areas are Sárrét in Transdanubia and Hortobágy. In wet years, it may occasionally breed sparsely on the Danube-Tisza Plain and in southern Transdanubia. Migrant (May-September).
