Description |
An 83-km long reach of the River Danube forming the border with Slovakia, and characterized by a large industrial agglomeration comprising several important towns. The river section itself is braided into a relatively small number of branches, and includes shallows, holms and masonry dams. Native Salix and Populus riverine forests occur on the holms. Human activities include shipping and dredging. |
