| Description In Hungary the Whiskered Tern breeds in colonies in deeper fens, fishponds and oxbow lakes. In the last two decades has become the most common Chlidonias tern in Hungary. Largest colonies are on the Hortobágy, on the southern Great Plain and at Kis-Balaton. Smaller numbers nest on alkali lakes in the Kiskunság and east of the River Tisza and also on oxbows of the River Tisza. Migrant (April-September).
