Crested Lark (Galerida cristata)

17-19 cm. A very simple and kind bird of Hungary. It has brownish upperparts and paler underparts with strong stripes on breasts. There is a big crest on the top of head. It's outer tail feathers are reddish-brown, and not whitish like on Skylarks. Fairly common bird around villages, roads, vineyards, animal farms and barns, but it breeds also in parking lots of cities.

Habitat

Breeds in cultivated areas or semi-natural vegetation with few trees. Resident in Hungary.
