Bird of the month 09/2006 Great Tit (Parus major) 14 cm. The Great Tit has a black cap, collar and throat and a black line running down its yellow breast and belly. The stripe is boarder in males than in females. It has green back and bluish-grey wings, tail and legs. In flight they show a white stripe on wings, white feather edges and white outer tail feathers. Habitat Very common in Hungary. Breeds in deciduous woods, parks, farmlands, trees in hedgerows, or even in gardens. Resident. | © Photo by Károly Teleki |
