Common Gull (Larus canus)

40-46 cm. Slightly larger, than Black-headed Gull, it’s back is darker, and in adult plumage head mainly white, or whitish in all the year. Bill is yellow,. It’s wing-tip pattern is similar to a large gull: black wingtip with small white mirrors. Legs are greyish-green.

Habitat

Rare breeder in Middle-Hungary (only a few pairs), but in winter it is very common on dumps, lakes, fishponds, and rivers.
