Description

An area of well-drained lowland overlain by meadow, saline and sandy soils, situated between the Gerje and Körös-ér streams south-west of the town of Szolnok. Saline grassland covers the majority of the IBA, interspersed by arable land, orchards, small saline lakes and abandoned rice-fields. Human activities include grazing, haymaking, arable farming, horticulture, fish-farming and hunting.
